The Role

  • Hoare Lea’s Fire Engineering group is a leading team of fire safety experts. We are seeking a Principal or Associate Fire Engineer to join our team in Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester or London.
  • Focus on the fire safety design of buildings as part of Hoare Lea’s Fire Engineering team.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team and with external clients on a portfolio of UK projects.
  • Understand and apply UK regulations and design guidance; collaborate with other construction professionals as needed.
  • Ensure open communication among project members; provide timely feedback and follow-up.
  • Attend design team meetings, design workshops, client meetings and site meetings.
  • Travel to client sites or projects in the UK and occasionally internationally, as required.
  • Utilise software analysis tools for evacuation, smoke and fire modelling, heat radiation models and structural fire modelling.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a fire engineering consultancy role.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Maths, Architecture, or Physics, with a keen interest in Fire Engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge in fire safety design and IT literacy with experience in fire modelling software.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to deliver to demanding timescales with good organisational and planning skills.
