Full-time or part-time. Bristol-based (mix of office and remote working). A dynamic, creative team. We’re a strong brand and we use creativity to connect and communicate to our audiences. Our Marketing team is the internal agency for our business, comprising comms specialists, writers, visualisers and graphic designers. We are a small but effective team of energetic people. We’re a friendly bunch, who collaborate closely - always welcoming new ideas and fresh approaches.
We are the firm’s go-to team for all things communication, content, and high-level marketing – whether that be through strategy development, general guidance, or more practical day-to-day content creation. Take a look at the Hoare Lea website to get a feel for everything we create: from events, insights and films, to an industry-leading magazine and thought leadership.
We predominately support the firm in the sectors and specialisms in which it has expertise, but also more broadly in terms of the firm’s role in reacting to the climate emergency, human-centric design, ESG and Corporate Responsibility – to name but a few. We push ourselves to think differently and we produce work of the highest quality that we are all proud of.
As part of our creative team you will help provide graphic design support and advice to the firm. You’ll have the opportunity to make a difference, to have ownership and accountability for your work within a supportive and fun environment. It is a varied role – you might be creating an infographic or a diagram one day and the next conceiving concepts for a major campaign.
We want you to grow as part of our team so we’ll give you the support you need to develop your role – your design skills, and any specialist skills you can bring to the team.
How you’ll work with us:
- Work with the team to provide a variety of graphic design requirements across the business.
- Whilst the focus is on day-to-day graphic support you will also contribute to a range of exciting and larger projects.
- You will collaborate on creative ideas to support a range of communications, campaigns, and other marketing outputs – which can also include motion graphics, digital and social media.
- Provide support and collaborate with the wider Marketing Team with projects and initiatives.
- Be a brand guardian – upholding and promoting our brand guidelines, as well as supporting others in the firm and inspiring them in keeping all our communications on-brand.
Role and responsibilities:
- Work with Head of Marketing, Creative Studio Lead and Content Manager on projects, ensuring quality and accuracy of work.
- Liaise with internal clients and Marketing Team to clarify briefs, develop creative solutions and maintain communication throughout projects.
- Conceptualise, visualise and confidently present ideas.
- Take initial ideas solutions through to digital artwork.
- Report to Creative Studio Lead and Principal Designer, keeping them up-to-date on status/issues of current projects.
- Support with PowerPoint templates and presentations when required.
Level of experience:
- A degree in Graphic Design or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years design studio experience.
- An effective communicator at all levels.
- Solid understanding of brand and how to apply guidelines.
- A portfolio which demonstrates your creative ideas and design skills.
- Great collaboration skills: you’re happy when working as a team to turn an idea into reality.
- Excellent eye for design aesthetics as well as detail.
- Well-developed organisational skills, being able to manage a number of day-to-day tasks.
- Able to take own initiative and manage own workload effectively.
- Excellent level of ability with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat. (experience of After Effects / Premiere Pro / Adobe Express would be a bonus).
- Working knowledge of the MS Office suite ‒ in particular PowerPoint and Word.
