About the role
We have a brand‑new opportunity for a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Consultant to join one of our teams located in Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh or Glasgow. Our Sustainability Group is an industry leader in its approach to sustainable design, construction and building operation. Focused on achieving ever greater standards of environmental sustainability, the discipline thrives on its dynamic, innovative, and ambitious working culture.
In this key and varied role, you can expect to:
- Develop holistic sustainability strategies
- Lead the delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc) from early design stages through to project completion/post‑construction.
- Undertake a range of modelling and assessments, which may include but not limited to: embodied carbon calculations and circular economy consultancy, building performance simulation including operational energy estimates, and overheating.
- Support the development of energy and sustainability strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on new and existing developments.
- Support the training of junior members of the team e.g. in workstream delivery, consultancy and project planning.
- Work within the Technical Excellence programme on research and development initiatives to allow us to stay at the cutting edge of knowledge in our industry.
About you
You are likely to have some knowledge and competence in a selection of the following fields:
- Energy performance modelling
- Whole life carbon assessments (including embodied and operational carbon assessment) – using OneClick or other methodologies
- Circular Economy Statements
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience working within the built environment sector.
- Already working within a sustainability or engineering consultancy, you will be looking for a new challenge within a practice at the very forefront of our field.
- You will bring expertise (with a degree in engineering/science, and experience in the field) and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
- You will relish being part of a dynamic team within a progressive and well‑respected firm.
- You will have good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within a team environment.
