This is a brand‑new opportunity for a Sustainability Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant (Energy) to join our team in Bristol, Plymouth or Exeter. The role is part of a leading Sustainability discipline that works across all sectors, delivering sustainable design, construction and building operation solutions.

In this key and varied role you can expect to:

  • Support senior team members on large scale projects and take ownership of energy workstreams.
  • Lead or support workshops with clients and design teams and communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Train junior team members in workstream delivery, consultancy and project planning.
  • Undertake modelling and analysis such as building performance simulation (CIBSE TM54, NABERS), Part L compliance, thermal comfort and overheating assessments, and environmental assessments (BREEAM, Passive Design, LZC study).
  • Develop energy and sustainability strategies with clients and drive net zero whole‑life carbon in projects.
  • Contribute to research and development initiatives within the Technical Excellence programme.
  • Engage with industry through research, studies and authoring guidance.

About you

You likely have some knowledge and competence in a selection of the following fields:

  • Building Regulations Part L
  • NABERS UK Design for Performance
  • In‑use energy assessment (CIBSE TM54, Passivhaus)
  • Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort and overheating
  • Advanced energy performance modelling (e.g. ApacheHVAC)
  • Sustainability strategy development
  • Environmental or wellbeing assessment
  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Whole life carbon assessment
  • CRREM analysis
  • Certifications such as CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant, CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessor, or NABERS UK Assessor.

To be successful you will have:

  • Experience working within the built environment sector.
  • Experience in a sustainability or engineering consultancy and looking for a new challenge.
  • A degree in engineering or science and relevant experience.
  • A passion for sustainable solutions and strong communication ability.
  • A good fit within a dynamic team in a progressive and respected firm.
