We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Cardiff office and work as part of the largest independent consulting engineering firm of its kind. Joining at an exciting period in the Hoare Lea Cardiff journey, in our new City Centre Office.

You will join a talented, dynamic, and diverse team of designers, engineers, and technical specialists with a unique working culture. Our team is large enough to work on large national and international schemes yet agile enough to allow significant talent growth and career progression.
As a Principal or Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
- Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
- Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery.
- This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating / translating the brief within the project team.
- Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
- Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects. Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux. Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors/architects in a design-oriented/consultant role.
From there, successful candidates will be invited to attend a panel interview, either via Microsoft Teams or in person at one of our offices.
