We provide a wide range of engineering and consultancy services, including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security and sustainability. Together, our highly skilled teams use technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to bring buildings to life. We ensure that whatever the building, its design is outstanding, and its operations meet the needs of the communities it serves. We are committed to providing an environment where everyone can realise their unique potential.

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our 9‑day fortnight scheme, thriving community groups, varied social and networking events, and extensive professional and technical development schemes. We also offer an extensive benefits package, including private medical cover, electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, stock options, and up to 30 days of annual leave.

About the Role

Through our Advisory & Advocacy (A&A) services, we address the most pressing business challenges faced by the built environment today, offering consultancy in Climate Advisory, Digital Advisory, Energy Economics, Societal Insights, Strategy & Stewardship, and Utilities & Infrastructure. As a Graduate Advisory & Advocacy Consultant, you will work within our multidisciplinary team, delivering value to our clients through cutting‑edge solutions.

You will help tackle challenges across the six pillars of our A&A services:

  • Climate resilience and decarbonisation strategies.
  • Digital transformation and smart technology integration.
  • Societal insights to create people‑centred environments.
  • Sustainable energy economics for a Net Zero future.
  • Strategy & Stewardship for ESG compliance and innovation.
  • Utilities & infrastructure to meet growing demands sustainably.

The Utilities team works alongside the firm’s MEP engineers, our sustainability team, or as a standalone service, covering all aspects of water, gas, electricity, telecoms and energy services. The various scenarios that could be encountered on a project have a significant effect on land value. Whatever balance between speed, cost, risk management and low‑carbon solutions is required, we expertly manage the process from start to finish, negotiating the absolute best price and timeframe.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Supporting live projects from day one across various sectors such as healthcare, education, and urban development.
  • Conducting research, data modelling, and analysis to solve complex client challenges.
  • Providing early prospective site due diligence activities, demonstrating constraints and opportunities from the presence of existing utility assets and access to new supplies.
  • Providing coordinate drawings, working with the wider business on utility integration into the built environment.
  • Collaborating with clients to deliver tailored strategies and solutions.
  • Participating in service design sprints and multidisciplinary workshops.
  • Developing expertise in technical, business, and societal aspects of the built environment.

About You

  • An expected or achieved 2.1 or above IET or CIBSE accredited degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Civil Engineering.
  • An understanding of 2D and 3D AutoCAD or Revit or similar modelling software is an advantage.
  • Grid code exposure would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • A friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.
