Air Quality
Our Air Quality service has been set up in response to ever increasing statutory requirements relating to air quality and demand in the built environment. Our dynamic team are supported to deliver innovative approaches and work UK wide covering all Hoare Lea offices. Our work not only addresses the legal requirements, but we look to offer the people who use the developments a healthy and comfortable environment in which to thrive, while ensuring that neighbours and others in the wider environment are protected from any harmful impacts.

The Role
As an Air Quality Consultant, your day-to-day tasks will vary, as we’ll expose you to all aspects of our work so you can discover what suits you. You could be;
- Working on live projects from day one – click here to view our exciting projects
- In a variety of sectors from healthcare to hotels
- Undertaking assessments to inform the design of our projects
- Using the computer modelling software such as QGIS and ADMS
- Undertaking site surveys
- Researching ground-breaking technologies
- Continuous CPD and learning opportunities
- Being part of a small team, you will get the opportunity to be exposed from the off to a wide range of projects and as your learning progresses you will be responsible for elements of detailed design delivery, such as mitigation specifications, and be given increasing responsibility and autonomy in delivery of your work whilst having continued support by our range of in house specialists.
Communicating will span all of these, as we regularly liaise with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.
You will receive a dedicated mentor and supervisor and you will receive the best training to support you through your development with us.
What We Are Looking For
- A postgraduate qualification in science, environmental sciences, technology or engineering
- Qualification in environmental policy would be preferable – but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of air quality monitoring techniques and strategies and some experience of using air dispersion models would be advantageous at graduate level – but not essential
- A masters or other relevant post graduate qualification is also an advantage
- Previous placement or work experience in a similar industry is an advantage
- An understanding of CAD or similar modelling software is an advantage
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
