We're looking for an experienced Senior Sous Chef to join the kitchen leadership team at Hoar Cross Hall. This is a senior, hands-on position offering a structured 40-hour working week, with typical shifts of 8:00am-4:30pm – giving you the opportunity to progress your career while maintaining a better balance outside of work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and motivating the kitchen brigade
- Delivering consistently high standards of food and presentation
- Taking charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
- Coaching, training and developing the team
- Supporting rotas and the smooth running of service
- Managing ordering, stock, food costs and waste
- Supporting menu development and seasonal dishes
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, allergen and Health & Safety standards
- Working with the wider Food & Beverage team to deliver a fantastic guest experience
What We're Looking For
- Have proven previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef experience within a quality hospitality environment
- Have excellent leadership and people-management skills
- Have excellent culinary skills and attention to detail
- Have a good knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and Health & Safety
- Have experience with ordering, stock and food-cost control
- Have a calm, organised approach to busy services
- Have a passion for great food and developing people
Additional Information
- £40,000 per annum
- Full-Time, permanent position - 40 hours per week
- Working 5 days out of 7 per week
- Shift hours: 8:00am–4:30pm
- Weekends and bank holidays included
- Due to the rural location of the role and no public transport options, applicants will need access to their own vehicle to travel to and from the workplace.
