Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Plasterer to join our dedicated Maintenance Team at Hoar Cross Hall. The
successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of plastering work,
ensuring the highest standards of finish and contributing to the upkeep and
enhancement of our historic building and modern facilities. This role requires
a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of various plastering
techniques, and the ability to work sensitively within a heritage environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare
surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, repairing, and applying
appropriate primers. - Apply
plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and even finish. - Perform
both new plastering work and repair/restoration of existing plasterwork,
including intricate mouldings and cornices. - Work
with various types of plaster, including traditional lime plaster for
heritage areas and modern gypsum plasters. - Measure,
cut, and fix plasterboard as required. - Skim
coat surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish ready for decoration. - Identify
and rectify defects in plasterwork, such as cracks, holes, and damp
damage. - Maintain
a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly
cared for. - Adhere
to all health and safety regulations and company policies. - Collaborate
effectively with other members of the Maintenance Team and other
departments. - Provide
accurate estimates for materials and time required for jobs. - Complete
all work to a high standard, on time, and within budget. - Always
be respectful of the hotel environment and guests.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven
experience as a qualified Plasterer, preferably with experience in
heritage or large commercial properties. - NVQ
Level 2 or 3 in Plastering, or equivalent relevant
qualifications/experience. - Strong
knowledge of different plastering techniques and materials, including
traditional lime plastering. - Ability
to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. - Excellent
attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes. - Strong
problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a
team. - Good
communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability
to work safely at heights and in various working conditions. - A
valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. - A
positive attitude and a flexible approach to work.
