As Head Bartender, you will play a key role overseeing all aspects of the operations of our bars which includes crafting unique drink menus for our guests to enjoy, managing the bar staff and stock levels, and ensuring our high levels of service are maintained. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper stocking of bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, glassware, and other essentials.
  • Enforce compliance with alcohol laws and regulations.
  • Develop and prepare high-quality cocktails, including the creation of prebatched drinks, house-made syrups, infusions, and garnishes.
  • Develop and curate an exciting and innovative drink menu that reflects current trends and appeals to our guests.
  • Understand menu content, menu changes, and promotional activities.
  • Lead and supervise the bartending team, providing training, guidance, and feedback.
  • Foster a positive team environment and ensuring a cohesive and efficient team.
  • Provide training and mentorship to ensure all staff meet the high standards required
  • Provide guests with a personalised service, recommend drink selections, and ensure a memorable experience.
  • Ensure consistency in drink preparation and presentation across all staff.
  • Monitor and manage bar inventory, including conducting regular stock counts and placing orders as needed.
  • Track sales and manage wastage to ensure profitability.
  • Reconciliation of bar takings at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure bar and seating area is cleaned after every shift.
  • Change barrels as and when required & cleaning of beer pipes when required.
  • Adhere to all licensing regulations as specified by the licensing laws.
  • Provide the service of drinks to the standard as stated in the SOP guidelines.
  • To Keep front and back of house areas clean, tidy and set up for any function in line with BEOs and to comply with all closedown and setup procedures.
  • Be able to answer guest queries in a polite and helpful manner.
  • Comply with current opening and closing shift procedures.
  • Provide the service of drinks under the current Weights and Measures Act
  • Provide excellent service to all customers, addressing any complaints or concerns in a professional manner. To immediately inform the supervisor or manager on duty of all cases.
  • Work closely with fellow bartenders, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations and a unified approach to sales.
  • To be part of the guests\’ journey from the moment they arrive to the time that they leave, offering a \”home from home\” surrounding and service feel yet in a professional manner.
  • Ensure adherence to all workplace health and safety regulations.
  • To use all COSHH & food hygiene guidelines

Personal Specification:
Essentials:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, particularly in bar service.
  • A good understanding of cocktail preparation, liquor licensing, food hygiene, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with guests and team members alike.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times.

Desirables:

  • Experience handling large volume covers and working in high-demand settings.
  • Food Safety Training or a willingness to undertake training.
  • Experience working in a hotel or spa environment, where a premium guest experience is paramount.

Further Information:

  • Full flexibility is essential, as you will be required to work as needed, including bank holidays and weekends to meet the needs of the business.
  • 40 hours per week – 5 days out of 7 per week.
  • Please note that due to our rural location, there are no public transport links, therefore access to your own reliable mode of transportation is strongly recommended.
