Role:
As a Pastry Commis Chef, you'll work as part of our Kitchen Team, supporting the Head Pastry Chef and senior chefs with the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
From preparing dishes and supporting busy services to assisting with desserts, afternoon teas, petits-fours and breads, you'll play an important role in ensuring our guests receive consistently high-quality food
You'll also help maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness while developing your skills and experience within a professional kitchen environment.

- Supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Assisting with the preparation of desserts, afternoon tea, petits-fours and breads
- Helping maintain stock levels and assisting with ordering
- Preparing and serving food to our high quality standards
- Following all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Completing daily food and fridge temperature records
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen
- Assisting with menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Supporting and motivating colleagues while working as part of a close-knit team
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested by the Executive Chef or Head Chef
What We're Looking For
Essential
- A passion for creating high-quality food
- Previous experience in a similar hospitality role
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
- Good understanding of food hygiene and quality standards
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
- A positive attitude and a genuine team-player
Desirable
- Experience working with high-volume service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Additional food safety training.
- Eagerness to learn, develop and share your knowledge with others
Shift Patterns
- 40 hours per week
- 5 days out of 7 per week
- Note: Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business
