The Role

At Hoar Cross Hall, we pride ourselves on providing incredible service and a memorable experience for every single guest. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Head Bartender to join our award-winning team and contribute to our continued success. As Head Bartender, you will play a key role overseeing all aspects of the operations of our bars which includes crafting unique drink menus for our guests to enjoy, managing the bar staff and stock levels, and ensuring our high levels of service are maintained.

Your responsibilities:

  • Developing and curating an exciting and innovative drink menu that reflects current trends and appeals to our diverse clientele.
  • Providing guests with a personalised service, recommend drink selections, and ensure a memorable experience.
  • Monitoring and managing stock levels, order supplies, and reduce wastage to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Developing and preparing high-quality cocktails, including the creation of prebatched drinks, house-made syrups, infusions, and garnishes.
  • Overseeing the cleanliness, organisation, and safety of the bar area. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol regulations.
  • Leading and motivating the bar staff, ensuring a cohesive and efficient team. Provide training and mentorship to ensure all staff meet the high standards expected.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of the bar's cellar, ensuring optimal storage conditions for all beverages. This includes changing barrels and pipe cleaning.

Personal Specification

Essentials:

  • Have previous experience in a supervisory role within the bar or hospitality industry.
  • Have extensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and beers.
  • Have excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirables:

  • Have experience with large volume covers.
  • Have food Safety Training.
  • Have knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.

Shift Pattern

Full-time contract 37.5 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days £13.75 per hour. Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business such as working evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
