Job Description:
HMV has been the home of entertainment in the UK since and we are thrilled to announce our return to our iconic flagship store at Oxford Street!
As we are building a brand new team, we are looking for Security / Senior Loss Prevention Officers to support the Store Management and Sales teams.
You will be implementing loss prevention best practices and ensuring compliance in store. Working as part of a team on the sales floor, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and customers by reducing opportunities for crime, disorder, and accidents.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate confidence and ability when dealing with sensitive matters, have a passion for safety first, and approach all situations with a customer-focused priority. We are seeking both part-time (15 hours per week) and full-time (37.5 hours per week) candidates who can work shifts, including weekends.
Key responsibilities include:
- Customer relations and Health & Safety compliance
- Responding positively to conflict in accordance with company procedures and Health and Safety requirements
- Assisting security operatives and law enforcement agencies, working lawfully to deter criminal activity
- Adhering to company data and incident reporting procedures
- Ensuring compliance with loss prevention policies and maintaining safety for staff and customers
- Carrying out duties assigned by your manager
- Understanding and implementing fire and safety evacuation procedures
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A professional manner that reflects well on you and the company
- Previous retail security experience (preferable)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Dependability and availability for a regular schedule
- A friendly, approachable personality
- A smart and presentable appearance
- Experience working with police and law enforcement agencies, including court attendance if required
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach
- Good local knowledge and awareness of the store area
- Experience in loss prevention/security: 1 year (required)
