About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
In this role, you’ll Lead day to day commercial activities on large scale HV projects.
You'll work closely with the commercial & engineering teams, clients, and key stakeholders to deliver on the commercial side of projects for H&MV.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day commercial and contract activities, including procurement schedule creation and monitoring.
- Ensure suppliers and sub‑contractors are managed in line with company policies and contractual requirements.
- Use agreed costing systems for allocation, coding, cost analysis, and Tender vs Construction comparisons.
- Maintain contract progress through regular updates, meeting milestones, processing payment applications, and updating obligations.
- Manage sub‑contractor accounts: selection, appointments, contracts, payments, and variation control, with ongoing liaison with clients and site teams.
- Lead contract negotiations, participate in handovers with estimating, and elevate value changes or issues to senior management.
- Produce and present monthly cost reports while supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members.
Key Requirements
- University Degree in Quantity Surveying, or another relevant field, is desired.
- Minimum 2-3 Years’ Experience in a MQS position.
- Proficient in Microsoft office features including excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve in a collaborative fashion.
- Team player who demonstrates high level of initiative.
