Responsibilities:
- The Project Manager reviews the contract programme to ensure that it reflects the requirements of the contract and properly identifies the contract scope of work.
- The Project Manager shall ensure that the preliminary items necessary for setting up the site and executing the contract are identified and supplied to the site.
- The Project Manager will receive all the contract documents at the handover meeting.
- The Project Manager is responsible for site safety on the project. The EHS department audits existing safety procedures and advises on all safety aspects of the project.
- Client interface on all issues. This may be delegated by the PM depending on the project.
- Holding project meetings weekly covering safety, finance, programme, design, and site teams to ensure all areas are coordinated and all team members are briefed on project progress.
- First point of escalation for client and internal team.
- Project resources and performance management throughout the entire project.
- Reviewing project safety at all times with the H&MV safety representative.
- Reviewing project QA for the entire civil/electrical project.
- Carry out quality audits on Sub-Contractors.
- Design review.
- Ensure adequate competent resources are available throughout the project.
- Overall ownership of the programme and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Issue early warning notices as required.
- Be the point of contact within H&MV for the project.
- Site setup, appearance and setting out each job to the H&MV standard.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering apprenticeship, ONC diploma or degree, extensive relevant experience.
- Experience 5+ years in construction/engineering, with years as a Project Engineer working on HV assets.
- High voltage asset management experience, ideally within distribution and/or generation, transmission, or utilities.
- Experience in acting as single point of contact.
- Ability to define and work within a detailed budget.
- Team management and development.
- Strong engineering/technical leadership.
- Flexibility and exceptional communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure and make evidence-based decisions.
- Ability to identify and manage risk, prioritising without losing sight of overall plans and priorities.
- Stakeholder, contract and team management.
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Office. SharePoint experience is an advantage.
