We are looking for an experienced and passionate Dermatology Nurse Specialist to join our Outpatients team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled dermatology nurse to work within a high-quality private hospital environment, delivering specialist dermatology treatments and exceptional patient care.

You will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their dermatology journey, from initial consultation and assessment through to treatment, minor surgical procedures and post-operative care.

You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and personalised care, while contributing to clinical excellence and outstanding patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in surgical dermatology, alongside a recognised dermatology qualification and current NMC registration.

Key Responsibilities

As a Dermatology Nurse Specialist, you will

  • Deliver high-quality surgical dermatology treatments in accordance with best practice, clinical protocols and professional standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, clinical assessments and suitability evaluations.
  • Develop and deliver personalised treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Provide safe and effective pre-operative preparation, education and support.
  • Deliver high-quality post-operative care, monitoring patients' recovery and responding appropriately to complications or adverse reactions.
  • Administer treatments within your scope of practice and professional competence.
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes, adapting care plans where appropriate.
  • Provide clear aftercare advice, patient education and ongoing support.
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships and ensure patients feel informed, supported and valued throughout their care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation.
  • Maintain excellent infection prevention and control standards.
  • Support surgical teams with perioperative care and patient management.
  • Ensure clinical environments, equipment and stock are maintained to appropriate standards.
  • Follow hospital policies, medicines management requirements, governance procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support the development of colleagues through mentoring, teaching and sharing clinical knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external services.
  • Promote patient safety, confidentiality, equality, diversity and inclusion at all times.
  • Maintain professional registration and actively engage in continuing professional development.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our dermatology services and the overall patient experience.

About You

We are looking for a confident, compassionate and clinically skilled nurse who is passionate about dermatology and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in surgical dermatology.
  • Proven experience delivering dermatology treatments.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient safety.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and professional standards.
  • Experience providing pre- and post-operative dermatology care.
  • Experience working within a private hospital or clinic (desireable)
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring or clinical leadership. (desirable)
  • Experience contributing to service development, audit or quality improvement.
