The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Representative with the flexibility to visit clients in France and French speaking Africa. This hybrid role combines in-office sales activities, such as consultations, proposal generation and order management, with external customer visits to build relationships and grow our market. To excel in this role, you have a technical background or strong motivation to learn technical sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify customer needs which you bridge with our product solutions.
This role involves:
- Identify new markets and contacts, and respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, providing technical advice and product recommendations.
- Visit customer sites to build relationships, better understand their needs, and identify new opportunities for product offerings.
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and technical documentation for customers.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure the project scope is understood and correct advice given to customer.
- Identify sales opportunities and provide pre-sales technical support.
- Participate in client meetings, trade shows, and industry events to promote HMT products and services.
- Conduct customer feedback surveys and provide insight to internal teams for improvements.
- Conduct on-site presentations and technical consultations.
- Use costing tools, historical data and maintain internal sales CRM (Salesforce).
Project Management
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities associated with a given project.
- Review, understand and communicate project scope and customer requirements with supporting functions.
- Perform job setup as required and maintain the project within HMT’s project cost control software with regards to revisions to the scope, profit/loss reporting and invoicing.
- Identify all scope of work changes as they occur and communicate this information to the Technical Advisor(s), Supervisors, Field Crews, and Customer as required.
- Responsible for negotiating change orders with the customer.
- Responsible for execution of job close out procedure upon completion of the work, and delivery of job close out packages and reports to the customer in a timely fashion.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic person with:
- Studies in Technical field, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Fluency in French and English (verbal and written).
- Prior experience in a technical sales role, preferable in industrial or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
- Strong technical affinity or the ability to learn technical product specifications.
- Excellent influential and communication skills, with a customer-centric focus.
- Ability to balance inside office work with external customer visits, travel included.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Candidate shall be in UK and be eligible to work in UK, able to reach office in Kent area.
