This is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in residential development as a Development Officer Apprentice. This is a 2-year apprenticeship. You’ll gain hands-on experience while working towards a relevant professional qualification, supported by experienced colleagues across our Development team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the delivery of new build housing schemes from feasibility through to completion
  • Monitor programme performance against milestones and targets
  • Assist in preparing financial appraisals and documentation for scheme approvals
  • Work collaboratively with finance, legal, technical and procurement teams
  • Learn how to identify and assess development opportunities
  • Support contract management and consultant processes
  • Ensure compliance with Homes England requirements and internal policies
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports and systems
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners and stakeholders
  • Work towards a recognised qualification in a relevant field
  • Take part in structured training, mentoring and development reviews
  • Follow all health & safety policies and procedures
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work
  • Support safeguarding by reporting any concerns in line with policies

What We’re Looking For:

  • Willingness to complete a relevant apprenticeship qualification
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safe working practices
  • Relevant A-levels, BTEC, T Level or degree (or working towards one)
  • Understanding of housing, construction or development sectors
  • Experience working in a team (e.g. part-time role, placement or project work)
  • Full UK driving licence
