Torus is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and high‑performing team, delivering accurate and insightful financial information to support decision making across the Group. You will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, supporting budget holders, and contributing to effective financial planning, forecasting, and control. This role requires a candidate who is confident in analysing complex financial data, providing clear commentary, and partnering with stakeholders to drive strong financial performance.

Working Pattern

This is a hybrid position. The team is required to attend the office for the first two working days of each month to support month‑end activities. Thereafter, office attendance operates on a weekly rotation basis – working on‑site on a Monday one week, a Wednesday the following week, and continuing to alternate accordingly.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and detailed commentary.
  • Supporting the annual budget setting process and periodic forecasting cycles.
  • Partnering with budget holders and senior managers to provide financial insight and challenge.
  • Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring strong financial controls are in place.
  • Supporting year‑end processes and liaising with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, financial regulations, and governance requirements.
  • Promoting a safe, fair, and inclusive working environment through Equality, Diversity, and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Manage and support the Assistant Management Accountant, providing guidance, oversight and development to ensure effective financial support and service delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in a similar Management Accountant role.
  • Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and present it clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Experience of working within a regulated or large, multi‑site organisation (desirable).
  • Professional accounting qualification (fully qualified or working towards) desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
  • High levels of IT literacy, including strong Excel skills and experience of finance systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.

Salary and Hours

£46,289 (pending pay award) 37 hours per week
