As a Digital Portfolio Manager (Agile) (Senior Officer) within HMRC's Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO), you will support the delivery of digital products and services across a portfolio or programme environment.
You will work across multiple Agile teams to ensure delivery is coordinated, risks and dependencies are understood, and progress is visible to stakeholders. Operating in a fast-paced and complex delivery environment, you will play a key role in maintaining delivery momentum, enabling teams to work effectively and contributing to successful outcomes across the portfolio.
Job description
You will support delivery across a portfolio of Agile teams, coordinating activity, aligning plans and ensuring dependencies are actively managed. Working closely with Senior Agile Delivery Managers, Product Managers and stakeholders, you will help maintain delivery oversight, ensuring that risks, issues and priorities are clearly understood and acted upon.
You will apply Agile and Lean delivery practices to support effective ways of working, helping teams collaborate, improve delivery flow and continuously enhance performance. While you will operate across multiple teams and contribute to delivery outcomes, overall ownership of portfolio performance and escalation beyond programme level will sit with senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery across a portfolio or programme of Agile teams, ensuring alignment and coordination
- Maintain delivery plans, reporting and governance, providing clear visibility of progress
- Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring they are tracked and addressed
- Support the coordination of cross-team dependencies, maintaining delivery flow
- Provide stakeholders with clear and timely delivery updates, supporting decision-making
- Apply Agile and Lean practices to support effective delivery across teams
- Work with Product and Delivery roles to align backlogs, priorities and delivery goals
- Contribute to continuous improvement in delivery processes and ways of working
- Management of organisational charts and distribution lists - organisational documentation
Essential Criteria:
- Experience delivering digital products or services within Agile or multidisciplinary environments
- Experience coordinating delivery across multiple teams or workstreams- including managing risks and dependencies
- Ability to operate within structured delivery and governance environments- maintaining delivery oversight
- Strong communication skills- with the ability to provide clear delivery insight to stakeholders
- Experience identifying and resolving delivery risks- issues or blockers
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support delivery outcomes

Alongside your salary of 45,544, HM Revenue and Customs contributes 13,194 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
