CDIO Finance, Portfolio, Performance & Organisational Change (FPPOT) are responsible for delivering a range of key services to CDIO and HMRC. We are responsible for ensuring the operation model of CDIO is working effectively, that we plan our activity well and have strong risk and governance controls, connected by the services we provide to deliver HMRC's objectives.

Job description

Resource Managers sit within the FPPOT's Portfolio Practice supporting CDIO Delivery Areas to provide a clear picture of the available CDIO workforce, their skillsets across both Product and Platform functions to ensure that Supply and Demand can be balanced across the estate. Resource Management covers four key areas:

  • Resource Management - operational process of allocating resource to demand via standardised tooling.
  • Supply & Demand - scheduling demand against available supply, escalating issues through a Supply and Demand framework which this cannot be achieved.
  • Impacting Coordination - the identification of all future demand and the management of small change and impact requests (Work, Delivery and Change Requests).
  • Workforce Planning - providing a view of workforce requirements across CDIO to achieve strategic objectives and key results.

As Resource Manager you will support the allocation and assignment of resources to projects/programmes, through effective supply and demand management, by supporting the creation of mechanisms to ensure resources are deployed efficiently under full transparency. You will collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple projects using resource systems to update and complete management reporting as directed by senior Resource Manager colleagues.

Person specification

The requirements of the role are:

  • Manage day-to-day PPM Tooling activity as per CDIO Resource Management standards and processes.
  • Manage compliance of Resource Management Standards.
  • Timely and accurate reporting to provide a clear picture of available CDIO resource and skillsets across Product, Platform and cross cutting functions to support resourcing activities.
  • Coordinate impacting, ensuring process is adhered to both accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage internal CDIO stakeholder relationships required to secure resources.
  • Coordinate FTE forecasting to ensure accurate and timely reporting for Workforce Planning.
  • Proactively endorse and act as an advocate for the use of resource management tools and principles.

Previous knowledge and experience of CDIO PPM Tooling and Resource Management Standards is not a requirement for this role. We are looking for someone who delivers a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced environment, applies creative problem solving, and is committed to continuously improving ways of working.

  • Ability to work at pace, managing competing priorities and workloads, while consistently delivering a high quality service to the business areas you support.
  • Proven experience of managing and maintaining effective services, delivering against agreed standards and processes, while identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to build effective working relationships and engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders across business area and the wider organisation.
  • A collaborative team player with strong attention to detail, who is also able to work independently and take responsibility for delivering outcomes with minimal supervision.

Benefits

Alongside your salary of 37,682, HM Revenue and Customs contributes 10,916 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Sift

Hybrid working at HMRC
