As a Project Support Officer within the Security and Resilience Portfolio, you will play a key role in supporting delivery across a range of projects and initiatives. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, service owners, and delivery managers, you will help ensure that accurate information flows smoothly, blockers are surfaced early, and teams have what they need to progress effectively.
You will contribute to planning cycles, support the tracking of risks and issues, and help teams adopt efficient ways of working. Your work will help maintain momentum, improve transparency, and ensure that the portfolio adapts quickly to changing priorities and emerging delivery needs.
Person specification
- Planning and scheduling: Implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
- Monitoring and reporting: Establish and maintain project controls & governance, keeping the project manager aware of the project status. Prepare project performance reports, presenting statistics and researching new information.
- Stakeholder: Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties. Draft and sign-off correspondence.
- Risks and issues: Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a large, complex programme or portfolio.
- Strong Analytical Skills.
- Qualified PPM Professional: Project/Programme Management qualification (PRINCE, MSP, P3O etc.) or willingness to work towards it in the next 12 months.
- Skilled in MS Project.
- Experienced in project Risk and Issue Management.
Additional Security Information:
Security Check (SC) clearance level, either already held or willing to obtain, is a requirement of this role.
