If so, Unity Business Services (UBS) is offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to real improvements and spearhead change initiatives across HMRC's recruitment teams. UBS manages high-volume recruitment activity, and this role places you at the forefront of service improvement and capability-building, helping shape how we guide our teams, assure quality, and support new entrants to hit the ground running as we welcome them into our operational teams.
As Quality Assurance & Training Officer you will be responsible for helping embed high standards across UBS Recruitment through structured learning and robust quality assurance. You'll ensure new starters are set up for success, recruitment principles are upheld, and continuous improvement is driven through data-led insights and collaborative working.
This role sits at the heart of service excellence, working closely with operational colleagues to ensure our recruitment service is consistent, compliant, and connected to purpose. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design of a new team. A creative vision and adaptability are key as we adapt to the needs of a continually evolving service.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee onboarding and development of new entrants across the wider team, ensuring induction processes are scheduled, learning pathways are completed.
- Assist with the design and delivery of best-practice training, contextual briefings, and capability-building sessions to ensure teams are equipped with the tools and knowledge to perform effectively.
- Manage and monitor quality assurance activities, setting standards, reviewing outputs against established frameworks, and using insights to drive improvements across the service.
- Help with providing strategic direction and prioritisation, identifying key areas for upskilling, responding to emerging needs, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Champion service adaptation, working collaboratively with stakeholders to refine processes, embed learning, and ensure the service remains responsive and effective.
Essential Criteria
- Experienced and confident in supporting training delivery, including running and setting up sessions, managing invites, and coordinating materials.
- Ability to conduct quality assurance checks and accurately record findings to support service improvement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, such as tracking mandatory learning completion and scheduling progress reviews.
- Confident in providing support and guidance to new starters to help them settle in and understand key recruitment principles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to follow communication standards and support others in doing the same.
- Comfortable using data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and escalate where needed.
- A proactive approach to work, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and continuous learning.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a Recruitment-specific landscape, including use of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
