Our Business Change Managers play a crucial role in driving forward the ground-breaking change needed to achieve the future shape of HMRC. The role of the Business Change Manager is to proactively prepare the business for the impact of the changes being delivered by the project. The Business Change Manager provides a bridge between the project and the business users to ensure that activities are planned and completed to enable the business to implement the agreed change and realise the business benefits.
Responsibilities
- Lead on business change activity and work with the project to support delivery of the Business Case benefits and outcomes.
- Champion the use of best practice, and provide expert advice for team members and project community.
- Lead on identifying and measuring the impact of change on business areas.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing and updating the change management elements of the Business Case.
- Provide input into creation of required Business Change products.
- Supports the engagement of relevant business/end users during this process.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing and updating the change plan.
- Support the Project Manager and business/end users in identifying, qualifying, and updating business readiness criteria before implementation.
- Support the Benefits Manager, Project Manager and stakeholders to identify and leverage benefits.
- Considers Benefits Management in all Business Change activities.
- Support Stakeholder Manager and Project Manager to create, and maintain communications plan in relation to Business Change Management.
- Identify stakeholders, ensures their inclusion in stakeholder engagement plan.
- Point of contact for nominated stakeholders.
- May be mentored by a more senior Business Change Manager or Project Delivery Professional.
- The successful candidate may be required to undertake line management responsibilities.
Essential Criteria
- Business change experience.
- Experience of supporting the delivery of business change within a medium to large organisation, with an understanding of how change impacts people, processes and day to day operations.
- Assessing change impacts and readiness.
- Demonstrable experience of identifying the impacts of change on teams or services, assessing readiness for change, and contributing to actions that support successful adoption.
- Stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Proven ability to work with a range of stakeholders, building effective relationships and clearly communicating change impacts, risks and required actions.
- Planning and coordinating change activity.
- Experience of planning and coordinating change activities such as communications, training, guidance or go live support to help people transition to new ways of working.
- Working in a structured delivery environment.
- Experience of working within a structured change, project or delivery environment, managing multiple priorities and escalating risks or issues when appropriate.
