We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent veterinary surgeon to join our client and their friendly and supportive team of 11 vets (8 FTE). The Vets are proudly independent, client-focused practice set in Clacton-on-Sea, just a five-minute walk from the beach. They also have one small, consult only branch surgery based in Frinton on Sea. They are an hour's drive from London Stansted airport and 30 minutes from Harwich port.

Position: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Hours: Part time or full time (2-4 days a week) NO OOH

Further information:

  • They have invested in their people, premises and equipment, and have a dermatology certificate holder and one working towards a soft tissue surgical certificate.
  • They can boast a brand-new ultrasound machine, new in 2018 video-endoscopy, digital x-ray and excellent in-house laboratory equipment.
  • An RCVS accredited nurse training practice, and have 14 nurses, 10 of whom are registered veterinary nurses.
  • ISFM and RWAF accredited.
  • 15-minute appointments.
  • One set operating day per week, can be increased to two for an experienced surgeon.
  • One set day off during the week and 1:4 Saturday mornings with no OOH.
  • Five weeks annual leave.
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid. They also include a gym membership with the package.

Candidates should be interested in working up and following through their cases to completion or handing over to colleagues when appropriate. Please note: you will need to be a qualified (or soon to qualify) Veterinary surgeon who is eligible to register with the RCVS.
