Core Responsibilities

  • Travel and workplace assessments: Assess learners in different workplaces within the assigned region.
  • Guidance and support: Provide feedback, guidance, and support as learners work towards NVQ qualifications.
  • Evidence collection: Gather evidence of learners’ skills and knowledge to demonstrate competence.
  • Assessment and feedback: Evaluate performance against NVQ standards and provide constructive feedback.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of learner progress and assessment results.

Additional Duties

  • Plan and deliver training sessions.
  • Provide training to learners to help develop the skills needed for their NVQ.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure assessments are conducted according to awarding organisation standards.
  • Collaborate with prison managers and employers.

Qualifications

  • Assessors Award or equivalent (e.g., CAVA).
  • Recent assessment experience within the last six months.
  • Experience in vocational training, preferably related to cleaning principles.
  • Prepared for prison security clearance.

Working Hours and Compensation

  • 34 hours per week, 4‑day week Monday to Thursday, 7.30 am to 4.30 pm.
  • Permanent position with salary of £25,000 plus additional mileage expenses beyond normal daily commute.
