HMP Isle of Wight have an exciting opportunity for a Barbering Tutor to join the prison-based Education Team. We are seeking a creative and inspiring Tutor who can deliver engaging classes to small groups of learners who are based within the prison. As a Barbering Lecturer, you will be supporting learners to achieve success and guiding them through the courses.

The Barbering sessions are Monday - Friday mornings, the successful candidate needs to be suitably experienced/qualified in Barbering themselves. For individuals with an interest in full time employment and who possess qualifications and experience in addition to Barbering, afternoon sessions Monday-Thursday are Outreach, working with learners on the wings, engaging them in education.

Training or teaching experience, even if not in a formal setting, would be transferable into this role, and further development would be supported. As a successful Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide learners with a positive learning experience. You will be connecting with students in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment as well as other areas of education.

We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with students, inspire and motivate them. We are keen to hear from candidates with or without formal teaching experience.
