Cleaner
Department – Corporate Services and Facilities
Salary – £25,999 Plus £1,600 Recruitment retention allowance
This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week
6am – 2pm Monday to Friday

As a cleaner at HMGCC you’ll get exactly that and will be joining a positive, inclusive team who helps make this organisation work.
With your positive and friendly approach, you’ll provide a clean working environment to all employees and visitors using your time management skills to prioritise your tasks and complete the cleaning needed.
You’ll be given all the support you need not only from your manager but also the rest of the team. If you’re looking to study towards gaining qualifications, we can help with that as well.
You’ll be enabling the UK Government to produce reliable and totally secure communications to protect national security. It doesn’t get much more important than that.
More About You
To apply for this role, you will have:
- Some experience of cleaning duties, preferably in an office or workplace environment.
- Some experience of dealing with the public.
- Basic IT skills.
- The ability to start at 6am.
To strengthen your application, it would be beneficial if you also have:
- An awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations (training will be given to successful applicants).
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.

Putting your skills to use
Using your diverse range of skills within the cleaning team, you will:
- Undertake all aspects of cleaning in designated areas within the site, as per the cleaning schedule, to the required standard.
- Empty litter and recycling bins and remove the waste to the designated areas.
- Use powered equipment where necessary.
- Clear up after flooding or any other emergency cleaning within the nature of the job.
- Collect and distribute laundry, including white coats and tea towels.
- Report any items that need maintenance or repair.
