Overview

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Wellbeing Support Assistant. Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are recruiting for two Wellbeing Support Assistants to join the Schools on a permanent basis. The roles will be available from November 2025 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The roles are term-time, full-time, working 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £24,614. One role will be based in the Junior School at Queensferry Road and the other will be based at Mary Erskine School at Ravelston.

Role summary

The Wellbeing Support Assistant provides reactive and planned support to specific children or groups with pastoral needs across the Junior, Middle and Senior School, facilitating their wellbeing and integration into school activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group wellbeing support to pupils with pastoral needs across the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.
  • Support integration of pupils into school activities and promote safe, inclusive participation.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to align wellbeing interventions with pupils’ needs.

Qualifications and experience

  • Successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people.
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs and supporting teaching staff in a school setting is desirable but not essential.

Eligibility

ESMS is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. International applicants will therefore be unable to apply for and secure a Skilled Worker visa. The successful candidate will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
