We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Head (Academic) to join the Senior Leadership Team at an exciting stage in the School's development. This is a senior role with responsibility for shaping the academic direction of a high performing school and ensuring that teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment remain rigorous, engaging and forward looking. Working closely with the Head and senior colleagues, the Deputy Head (Academic) will play a central role in sustaining and enhancing academic standards across the whole School.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding academic leader with a strong track record in teaching and learning and significant experience of curriculum and assessment leadership. They will set high expectations, inspire colleagues and promote a culture of intellectual ambition and professional collaboration. Oversight of academic standards, enrichment and digital learning will be central to the role, with a clear focus on supporting pupils to fulfil their potential.
The Deputy Head (Academic) will contribute to the wider leadership of the School, communicate Withington's academic vision clearly to parents and partners, and play a visible and engaged role in the life of the community. Supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team, committed Governors and dedicated staff, the postholder will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact at one of the country's leading girls' schools.
