We are currently seeking to fill the position of Commercial Enterprise Manager at Downside School. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and co-ordinating the growth and delivery of a diverse portfolio of commercial events & lettings across the year. This role requires excellent stakeholder management.
A key feature will be the ability to collaborate with the wider staff community to look at opportunities whilst being mindful of the potential effects on existing school operations. The Commercial Enterprise Manager will work closely with the Bursar and other senior staff to manage existing lettings and find new opportunities for the School. The role involves some work outside normal working hours, although you will have assistants to cover most out-of-hours commitments.
To be successful, you will have:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently and sensitively with customers and staff.
- Excellent IT skills; fully competent in using MS Office.
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise your workload and work with minimal supervision.
- Experience of office administration systems with the ability to develop both computerised and manual systems as required.
- A flexible approach to work and a willingness to support events outside of normal working hours (time off in lieu will be given).
- Previous commercial experience within an educational setting is desirable.

Contractual Details
- Pay: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Hours: Full time hours of 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. A flexible approach to working hours is essential, including regular evening and weekend working, in line with the needs of the business.
- This is an all-year-round position with 33 days annual leave which includes 8 days Bank and Public Holidays.
