We are currently seeking to fill the position of Exam Invigilator at Downside School.

Exam Invigilators

We are looking to appoint committed and enthusiastic Exam Invigilators to join our friendly and dedicated team here at Downside School. This role will allow you to work flexibly on a term time casual basis during the School\’s exam periods.

The role will be to assist the Examinations Officer in invigilating and ensuring the smooth running of internal and external examinations and assessments, within JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements. You will conduct examinations in accordance with the JCQ, awarding body and Downside School regulations and instructions and have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination / assessment process.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact;
  • Observe health and safety procedures and work safely at all times;
  • Be responsible for your own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate to the working environment and location, and developments in your role;
  • Undertake any other duties as required by your manager in order to meet the changing needs and demands of the Organisation.
  • Conduct yourself with professionalism, tact and diplomacy at all times as a representative of the Organisation.
  • Be confident, with the ability to motivate and enthuse students and work collaboratively with colleagues.

Contractual Details

Salary: £13.75 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay

Hours: Term time only.

The main public examinations for GCSE and A Level occur in April, May and June, and examinations take place Monday-Friday. However, invigilation may also be required for additional series and internal examinations throughout the year.

Usually, there are two main examination sessions, 08:00 – 12.45 and 12:45-17:00, although times may need to vary depending upon other circumstances.

Invigilators are normally expected to be available for a full morning or afternoon session.

Holiday: 12.07% Holiday Pay based on number of hours worked
