The King’s School Canterbury, one of the UK’s leading independent schools, is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Caretaker to support the upkeep of our historic and diverse estate. This role offers the opportunity to work within a friendly and professional Premises team, contributing to the care of buildings that combine centuries of heritage with modern educational facilities.

You will undertake a wide range of carpentry repairs, planned maintenance tasks, refurbishments, and small works across all school sites. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Premises Carpenters to ensure high‑quality workmanship and a responsive service to staff and pupils.

We are looking for a qualified carpenter (NVQ/C&G) with experience in the building or maintenance sector, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to safe working practices. Experience working within heritage settings or with traditional construction methods is desirable.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a proactive, reliable professional who takes pride in maintaining an exceptional school environment. You will also assist with general maintenance, occasional logistics, and on‑call duties.
