Accountant – Lease Accounting UK & IE – 1 Year Contract

Job Description

The role encompasses a wide range of Lease Accounting tasks. You will work within our property accounts team and collaborate closely with the Accounts and Expansion/Legal teams. The environment is fast-paced and constantly evolving.

• Responsible for all rent-related costs – Fixed Rent, Turnover Rent, Service Charge, Insurance, Storage, Merchant Association Fees.
• Coordinate with Lease Admin to ensure landlords/agents receive Turnover Certificates as per lease conditions and update all leases for IFRS 16 & Non-IFRS 16 on Lima.
• Handle emails related to remittances, payment queries, turnover queries, and completion statements.
• Work with external auditors.
• Prepare high-standard Balance Sheet reconciliations for lease assets, liabilities, prepayments, and accruals, ensuring differences are reconciled, explained, and resolved promptly.
• Support the Senior Accountant and Lease Admin with ad hoc requests.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet internal reporting deadlines and external regulatory requirements.
• Embrace change and seek continuous improvements.

Who You Are

We seek individuals with experience in Lease Accounting, eager to learn and grow in Accounting and Financial Control fields.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant
• Experience in Retail / Lease Accounting
• Experience in Turnover Lease Accounting
• Understanding of Capital Accounting, leasehold & property legislation

Good to have:

• Experience in SAP
