About the Team
This role sits across the Business and International Tax group. The Directors’ Private Secretaries and the wider Group Management Services (GMS) team sit at the heart of the group, supporting and advising Group Management Team (2 Directors and 8 Deputy Directors) to effectively manage the group and deliver on leadership, corporate and workforce strategy responsibilities. This G7 role is key to the functioning of the GMS team whose primary function is to ensure that the group is provided with excellent business and Personal Assistant support. The postholder will get significant exposure to SCS across the group.
This role, along with the Private Secretaries and GMS team, is a part of the Strategy Devolution and Cross-Cutting team (SDX). SDX works across the Business and International Tax Group to support and develop strategic and critical thinking about the business tax system as a whole; to lead on cross-cutting projects; and to act as a source of expertise and engagement on tax devolution policy, as well as supporting BIT’s corporate centre. With such an interesting, flexible and wide-ranging portfolio, we need a diverse set of skills to help us deliver. The team is friendly, welcoming and inclusive. We value diversity and people’s different perspectives, as informed by their background and experience, and build space for everyone to contribute.

- Leading BIT’s business planning and workforce strategy – advising Directors on immediate resourcing decisions, monitoring and maintaining a strategy to meet medium-term business planning needs and leading long-term planning in the context of BIT’s SR settlement. The postholder will liaise regularly with SCS across the group and present regularly at the weekly Group Management Team meeting.
- Working with finance partners, Directors and DDs to deliver the group’s non-pay budget, including embedding good process to ensure targets are met in a harmonised way across all DD-led teams.
- Support the Directors and the group’s leadership team to deliver cross-cutting corporate responsibilities, including leading and coordinating the group’s diversity networks and ensuring the team provides good secretariat support for Group Management Team meetings and wider group communications.
