The Business Operations Manager will support the commercial, operational and people priorities of the M&A practice. The role involves working closely with stakeholders across M&A, Finance, HR and Technology to deliver the business plan and drive continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of M&A’s strategic priorities through analysis, reporting and coordination.
- Supporting financial performance through annual budgeting, forecasting, reporting and commercial analysis.
- Contributing to initiatives that improve pricing discipline, delivery effectiveness and operational performance using data, analytical tools, AI‑enabled solutions and offshore delivery capabilities.
- Managing governance processes, operational reporting, systems and management information to support the effective running of the business.
- Providing insight into the evolving shape of the business through headcount analysis and workforce reporting to support decision‑making.
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, promotions, talent and employee engagement activities in partnership with HR and business leaders.
- Coordinating and supporting business improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new business systems, AI‑enabled ways of working and operational change programmes.
- Building strong working relationships across key enabling functions, including Finance, HR, Technology and other business services teams, to support delivery against business priorities.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in financial planning and analysis within a large and/or complex organisation.
- Experience supporting business management and operational activities, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manage, manipulate and analyse large and/or complex datasets efficiently.
- Strong PowerPoint and Word capability, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outputs in a fast‑paced environment whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying improvements and delivering outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience using data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience supporting business transformation, systems implementation and/or change management programmes.
- Exposure to AI‑enabled tools, operational improvement initiatives or alternative delivery models.
