Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects team (I&CP) provides market leading commercial and financial advice to the public and private sectors. We are continuing to expand our presence across the Defence and National Security market with a focus on servicing private sector clients. This represents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to lead and drive business growth and delivery of high impact projects in this area.

Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects team has extensive experience of advising on major procurements and complex transactions at the interface between the public and private sectors. From initial commercial/financial strategy, market engagement, planning and running transactions/procurements, contract structuring and negotiation through to contract exit and transition.

As a Senior Manager in our Infrastructure and Capital Projects team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex advisory projects for Defence and National Security clients. You will act as a trusted advisor, building and managing strong client relationships while providing expert commercial, financial and funding advice. You will oversee project teams, ensuring high-quality outcomes and effective project management, and play a key role in developing and mentoring junior colleagues. In addition, you will support Directors and Partners in driving business development initiatives and contribute to the growth and success of our Defence and National Security practice.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of advisory projects providing commercial, financial and funding advice for Defence and National Security clients with a focus on major procurements or transformations across the Defence and National Security value chain.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on the major commercial and financial decisions.
  • Supporting Directors and Partners to deliver marketing and business development activity in the Defence and National Security sector.
  • Preparing research documents and proposals to support business development in the Defence and National Security sector.
  • Independently managing an engagement/major workstream in a large programme with routine senior oversight.
  • Being responsible for providing day-to-day oversight, leadership and support for more junior team members.

Skills and Professional Experience

Essential

  • Relationships with senior stakeholders across the Defence and National Security sector (financial, commercial, and regulatory) impacting UK Defence.
  • An understanding of the financial and commercial aspects of government infrastructure, technology and/or service contracts.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus in multi-party environments.

Desirable

  • A recognised procurement, accountancy or financial qualification (full or part qualified).
  • Experience in business case development and strategic report writing for major Defence and National Security projects.
  • Experience in delivering advisory projects related to Defence supply chain management, including process improvement, supplier engagement, and operational efficiency.

All applicants must hold (or be eligible for) Security Clearance to apply. Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is desirable.
