As an integral part of the firm's Quality Risk and Security (QRS) community, Deloitte Business Security (DBS) is charged with protecting the firm's people, assets, and firm and client data. Individuals' safety and our firm's reputation are primary concerns for DBS. With extensive security knowledge, DBS also provides wide-ranging services to engagement teams and colleagues on security-related issues.
As a Data Privacy Operations Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Firm to meet its regulatory obligations under the UK Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation and support the business through providing tailored advice from a Privacy lens. You will be supporting day-to-day activities which will include:
- Privacy Risk Assessments (including Data Protection Impact Assessments - DPIAs, and Legitimate Impact Assessments - LIAs)
- Supporting with the investigation of Data Incidents
- Supporting with Data Subjects Rights Requests (including Data Subject Access Request - DSAR, and Erasure Requests)
- Advising the business on processing activities
In addition to completing the above day-to-day Privacy tasks, the role will sit in QRSS. Therefore, other responsibilities will include support for the Analysts in the Privacy Team, such as:
- Supporting with prioritisation/oversight of work
- Completing 1-2-1 check-in meetings
- Training & upskilling
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Privacy Operations Team in meeting its regulatory obligations
- Conducting Privacy Risk Assessments (DPIAs/LIAs)
- Completing Data Subject Rights Requests (Data Subject Access Request - DSAR, Erasure Request, Rectification Request etc.)
- Supporting with the investigating of Data Incidents
- Advising the business from a Privacy (personal data) perspective linked to engagements and other processing activities
- Supporting the Privacy Operations Team Analysts
- People oversight and leadership - supporting with day-to-day requests from our Analysts, conducting 1-2-1 check-ins and training & upskilling team members
- Conducting research and analysis on emerging privacy regulations and best practices
- Supporting the team with its Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) programme and delivering metrics/reports to leadership
- Developing and delivering privacy training materials for team members
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to knowledge sharing initiatives
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a basic knowledge of the firm's risk and data security controls; full training on the processes will be provided. The role needs:
- A proven track record of relevant experience in Privacy or a related field
- Strong understanding/interest of data privacy principles and regulations, including UK Data Protection Act 2018 (UK DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and other relevant legislation
- Experience in conducting Privacy Risk Assessments (DPIAs/LIAs), completing Data Subject Rights Requests (Data Subject Access Requests, Erasure Requests etc.), and confident in providing Privacy advice to the business
- Previous people's leadership experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
