We are seeking to hire experienced Senior Data Modellers in the Insurance practice of Deloitte's AI & Data service offering.

Role Overview

You will lead the data design of transformational data solutions for our insurance clients. You will work with other architects with different areas of expertise to define business‑facing data models that coherently enable a range of business processes and insurance functions.

Responsibilities

  • Analysing clients' business and technical environment through workshops and analysis of design documents to derive functional and technical insights to support the design and delivery of data models and data‑related deliverables.
  • Delivery of business‑facing insurance data models that effectively articulate designs, opportunities and challenges and can be used as a foundation for insurance transformations.
  • Inputting to the design of end‑to‑end architectures that articulate what functions are required to support data and analytics activities.
  • Helping market‑leading clients understand how they can use data to address challenges, ambitions or objectives.
  • Leading relationships with senior client stakeholders to define a 'common language for data', so that data across the organisation can be interpreted and used consistently and efficiently for required purposes.
  • Leading the creation of strategic roadmaps for Data & AI capabilities required to generate insights from enterprise data assets.
  • Leading effective, enthused and diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
  • Understanding the importance of stakeholder and change management and supporting development and implementation processes.
  • Contributing to client project delivery by owning one or more workstream(s) and ensuring commercially successful conclusion of the client engagements.
  • Assisting in the further development of our market‑leading solution and delivery offerings and help produce proposal documents to showcase our capabilities to clients.
  • Contributing to the development of our thriving Strategy, Governance and Architecture community.
  • Building our capability by training and managing talented members of our team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Consulting experience, including working on client facing projects.
  • Experience of contributing to proposal writing, presentations and pre‑sales activities.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong executive‑level stakeholder management using clear communications and able to form strong client relationships.
  • Good in‑depth expertise in functional areas in Insurance such as Finance, Risk, Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Asset Management (or equivalent).
  • Strong experience as a leader of people, providing dynamic day‑to‑day leadership that nurtures and develops junior talent, creating effective data design teams.
  • Strong understanding of data solutions, including data modelling, data management, data quality, master data management, reference data, reporting and visualisation, analytics and self‑service business intelligence.
  • Experience in data solution architecture e.g. establishing design principles, defining solution patterns while following architecture methodologies.
  • Experience developing a 'common language for data', including data models (all types), data dictionaries, data vocabularies, taxonomies or ontologies.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of data modelling principles and familiarity with processes, policies and any of the key data modelling tools.
  • Experience engaging with both Business and IT stakeholders to document business outcomes and objectives for large‑scale solutions and programmes.
  • Led data design workshops, including defining client requirements, document data models and reviewing output with stakeholders.
  • Experience working with peers and senior enterprise solution/data architects to align data architecture blueprints across different business units and geographies.
  • Be able to assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge to achieve business outcomes.
  • Experience of leading multi‑disciplinary teams in fast‑paced project environments and demonstrate personal resilience.
  • Ability to lead and manage 'go‑to‑market' activities such as responding to RFI / RFPs and developing high‑quality proposal materials.
  • Work within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution helping them grow their career in Deloitte.

Desirable Qualifications

  • TOGAF certified (or equivalent) or certification/good exposure to architecture and data management frameworks.
  • Certified in Data & AI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks or equivalent) and experience in designing and delivering enterprise data solutions including toolset selection, effort and cost estimation or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge of delivering innovative enterprise data management frameworks e.g. Data Mesh (or equivalent).
  • Experience and knowledge in designing Data Products for the Insurance industry.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Data / Information Governance principles and familiarity with processes, policies and any of the key vendor platforms such as Collibra, Informatica.
  • Experience managing cross‑geography teams, making effective use of offshore delivery teams.
  • Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements such as GDPR, IFRS17, Solvency II.
  • Establish technical design authorities to review and manage design decisions.
  • Project Management experience of both waterfall and agile delivery approaches.
