Responsibilities
- Operate effectively in a complex environment with multiple HR and firm stakeholders, managing competing agendas and ambiguity.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key business stakeholders across UK HR, EMEA, Global, and Enabling Functions.
- Drive the HR risk and compliance strategy, working with HR & Enabling Functions risk leaders and HR Centre of Excellence (CoE) colleagues to embed a robust HR risk framework.
- Oversee processes to treat HR risks and issues, ensuring compliance with HR legal, regulatory (e.g., FCA/SMCR, SRA, ICAEW, ISQM1, Legal Right to Work, EU AI Act, GDPR), and firm-wide standards, policies, and procedures.
- Leverage deep skills, knowledge, research, and business acumen to drive business value and impact in enterprise and operational risk management within a complex HR regulatory and legal landscape.
- Collaborate across the three lines of defence (HR, Quality & Risk, and Audit) to support People & Purpose focused outcomes and foster a nimble, cohesive, risk-aware culture within the HR team.
- Oversee the Business Continuity and resilience planning for HR.
- Continue to embed the HR Risk & Compliance framework using simple business language in an open and concise manner that shifts HR to a risk-aware culture.
- Provide coaching and guidance to HR Leaders and colleagues on matters aligned to HR risk and compliance.
- Embed an HR risk reporting and governance framework to support an insightful risk management portfolio view for key stakeholders.
- Support teams across HR to manage their processes, policies and supporting documentation (FAQ, Knowledge articles, IGrafx) aligned to the firm's quality standard.
- Partner with stakeholders across HR & HR Services to develop and embed accountability for standardised HR controls and frameworks to address key operational risks.
- Provide ongoing assurance of HR controls to initiative reviews and assessments where required.
- Develop deep knowledge of Deloitte's policies, processes, and obligations.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Experience operating at Senior Manager level with a deep working HR risk and compliance/operations knowledge and the demonstrated ability to shift with ease between strategic and tactical agendas.
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organisation to act without having a direct reporting relationship, with ability to tailor message and style appropriately to a senior stakeholder group; ability to win confidence quickly using simple business language and appropriate challenge will be key to success.
- Experience working in a highly commercial, fast paced, complex and transformative environment, ideally (not essentially), within Financial, Professional Services or Regulated environment.
- Experience in the provision of pro-active risk-based advice, balancing consistency of approach and decision making with pragmatic solutions that drive compliance.
- A problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalated when necessary, sense of accountability and sound professional judgement.
- Ability to interpret data and use this to spot trends and make considered decisions quickly and with confidence.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and complex matrix environment and relish working in a change environment while delivering to the business on a day-to-day basis.
- Understanding and ability to operate within a COE model and how to leverage those relationships to deliver risk-based judgements and projects.
- Experience building an environment of transparency and open communication to help influence change and build relationships.
- Experience leading a team.
- Understand expectations and demonstrate personal accountability for keeping team performance on track.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Monday.com, Igrafx, Microsoft packages.
- Experience working within an HR environment, understanding HR law.
