We are seeking an Associate Director to lead large, complex, multi‑capability and multi‑geography data and AI teams to deliver transformative solutions for our banking clients.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery of complex data transformation, data migration, implementation, advisory, and remediation projects, adding value to our clients' end users, by managing multi‑skilled teams from within client teams and broader Deloitte.
  • Leading and managing cross‑functional project teams, overseeing all aspects of project delivery from initiation to deployment and ongoing support.
  • Provide clients with deep technical expertise in data and AI technologies, designing innovative solutions that help them meet strategic business objectives.
  • Applying an understanding of how changes in the market will impact our clients and the challenges they face, and reflecting this in improving our own internal capabilities.
  • Collaborating directly with clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions for their deepest data and AI problems.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with client stakeholders, effectively communicating project progress, managing expectations, and addressing concerns.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team, ensuring the development of high‑quality data and AI solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and advancements in data and AI, contributing to Deloitte's thought leadership and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Leading business development work for our key propositions through pre‑sales, bid preparations and client presentations.
  • Showcasing our knowledge and experience whilst building relationships with potential clients.
  • Participating within Deloitte to assist growth in the Banking team, developing and guiding junior grade colleagues, and supporting the firm's commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • Have experience in business analysis, implementation, delivery, or consulting experience in the Financial Services industry, with a focus on data or AI.
  • Lead and develop large teams, supporting in the delivery of large‑scale data programmes within the Banking sector, with a record of high performance and success in your role delivering change and transformation for the client.
  • Experience of leading technology/data workstreams across mergers and acquisitions programmes.
  • Demonstrate experience across the Financial Services industry, with a primary focus on the Banking sector.
  • Have exceptional communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, including the ability to bridge both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Have experience in requirements gathering and solution shaping, including ability to translate technical requirements into business outcomes.
  • Have experience in leading multiple parallel workstreams/teams in both analysis and technical delivery programmes.
  • Excel at building relationships and collaborating with internal and client stakeholders to understand and articulate challenges to in implementing overall vision.
  • Show a proven ability to lead all aspects of programme teams, including managing people, risk management, facing off to senior (C‑suite) stakeholders, and managing project financials.
  • Demonstrate strong and specialised experience and understanding of new AI and data products, processes, and technologies, as well as modern data architecture principles and data management (e.g. data governance, data quality, data strategy).
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in key day to day applications such as Microsoft Office, Jira and Confluence.
  • Have experience in delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/SaFe, etc.) and tooling (Jira, Confluence, Planview etc.).
  • Show familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.) and data tools (Databricks, Power BI, Python, Snowflake, Hadoop, SQL, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a bias for action, a problem‑solving mindset, and an ability to operate independently.
  • Have experience in guiding and coaching junior talent through challenging situations and providing honest and constructive development points.
  • Have experience leading (consulting) bids, for example in responding to requests for proposals and developing industry relationships.
