As an Assistant Director in our Infrastructure and Capital Projects team, you will lead the delivery of complex, high-profile advisory engagements for Defence and National Security clients. You will drive growth in this sector, shape our market strategy, build client relationships and develop our people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee large-scale, complex advisory projects, providing strategic commercial, financial and funding advice to senior Defence and National Security clients.
  • Act as a senior advisor to clients, building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing major commercial and financial decisions.
  • Shape and drive the Defence and National Security sector strategy, identify new business opportunities and lead go-to-market initiatives in collaboration with Directors and Partners.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality proposals, thought leadership and market insights to support business growth.
  • Provide senior leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring delivery excellence and developing the next generation of leaders within the team.
  • Represent Deloitte in the market, building the firm’s profile through networking, speaking engagements and industry forums.
  • Take ownership of engagement risk, quality and commercial outcomes, ensuring compliance with Deloitte’s policies and regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience working in the Defence and National Security sector either within a top-tier consultancy, Tier 1 Defence company or in government, with a proven track record of delivering complex commercial and financial advisory projects.
  • Deep relationships with senior stakeholders across the Defence and National Security sector.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of the key issues impacting UK Defence.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent Deloitte at the highest levels.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams, influence stakeholders and drive consensus in multi-party environments.

Desirable

  • Experience with financial models and designing and building complex financial analysis.
  • A recognised procurement, accountancy or financial qualification (fully or part-qualified).
  • Experience in business case development and strategic report writing for major Defence and National Security projects.
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing supply-chain solutions for major Defence and National Security programmes, with a strong understanding of sector-specific challenges and opportunities.

Location & Working Arrangements

You will be based in Bristol or London with a hybrid working policy, combining local office, virtual collaboration spaces, client sites and remote work.
