Job Description :

This is a specialist communications role focused on designing and delivering innovative campaigns that support HMRC’s compliance objectives.

In this role, you will play a key part in the way we operate across the whole business area, coordinating communications plans and campaigns and commissioning specialist communications support from all HMRC Corporate Communications teams. This is a hugely rewarding role which will provide a fascinating challenge for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will report to CCG’s Customer Compliance Campaigns & Communications Lead and while you will primarily work on one subject area within CCG Comms, you may be required to work on other areas

Part of the role will be to account manage virtual wider HMRC communication campaign teams, made up of communications specialists.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Working closely with Compliance Comms Business Partners and the Campaigns Lead to understand business objectives to support the scoping, planning and delivery of key behaviour change campaigns through owned, earned as well as paid-for channels
  • Working closely with senior leaders to influence and identify communications requirements by providing proactive strategic advice, counsel and constructive challenge to senior leaders on how communications can help support business objectives, improve staff engagement and protect/enhance reputation
  • Working with internal stakeholders across the organisation, wider government, external agencies and campaign partners to ensure effective and integrated campaign delivery
  • Using fresh thinking and creative ideas to design and develop engaging, targeted content and messages across a range of channels and day to day reputation management
  • You will deliver high standards for all communications using creative and innovative communication techniques where appropriate.

Person Specification:

We’re looking for an experienced, driven and creative communications professional to join our friendly integrated team, where you’ll get the chance to build your skills across all areas of our work. You will have a strong record of managing and delivery high impact, behaviour change campaigns, aligned with business objectives.

  • Proven track record of leading effective, internal or external behaviour change campaigns with measurable outcomes through owned, earned and paid marketing channels.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task; work effectively and remain professional in a highly pressurised environment and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to establish relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, to support delivery of business outcomes.
  • Experience in gathering evidence to assess impact and effectiveness throughout the delivery of communication activity.
