Location: Croydon – Ruskin Square

Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) is responsible for HMRC’s Civil and Criminal investigations. Our investigation capability is key to managing and reducing the tax gap, supporting HMRC’s strategic objectives, and ensuring a healthy tax system.

This role in Investigation Services Core provides vital services supporting criminal, civil, and regulatory investigations into serious tax fraud and money laundering.

Job Description

Assistant Investigation Hub Officers deliver core services supporting investigations, including:

  • Interrogating departmental systems, preparing intelligence packs, and interpreting data.
  • Procurement of essential items and managing budgets.
  • Developing stakeholder relationships with investigators.
  • Managing property and vehicles, including driving official vehicles.

Security Clearance

National Security Vetting at Security Check (SC) level is required. Please review the security information section of the advert.

Person Specification

This is a manual role involving vehicle fleet maintenance, outdoor working, and working with high-spec equipment. You will support investigations and work across various HMRC sites.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office O365.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Licences

A full UK manual driving licence is required, with weekly driving expected.
