This is a non‑operational role at an establishment tasked with supervising prisoners in the waste management and recycling environment. The holder will transfer knowledge and skills to prisoners, ensuring safe and effective waste collection and appropriate disposal. The role is non‑rotational and does not involve line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision to prisoners in waste management and recycling units.
  • Transfer knowledge and skills required for safe waste collection and disposal.
  • Collaborate with Specialist Production Instructors (SPI) to support assessment and training of prisoners.
  • Ensure compliance with waste and recycling legislation, circular economy principles and data submission requirements.
  • Manage workshop and prisoner operations within the unit.

Nationality Requirements

  • UK nationals.
  • Nationality of the Republic of Ireland.
  • Nationality of Commonwealth countries with the right to work in the UK.

  • Individuals with limited leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS on or before 31 December 2020.
  • Turkish nationals and certain family members of Turkish nationals with accrued rights to work in the Civil Service.
