The Community Payback Supervisor role accommodates people on probation who work or have caring responsibilities. Projects run 7 days a week, so you will often work weekends and may be asked to cover some evenings. You will receive a 50% higher rate for the weekend days worked. Rest breaks may be adapted to the fast pace, but your wellbeing is a priority. In this operational role you will directly supervise work groups of offenders serving a community sentence, drive service vehicles to transport people and equipment, and work with service users to ensure all tasks are carried out to the best of their ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate small teams of offenders to complete unpaid work hours.
  • Drive service vehicles to transport offenders, tools and materials.
  • Plan and manage site supervision tasks and ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate good practice with offenders and reinforce positive behaviour.
  • Facilitate the completion of manual tasks such as clearing overgrowth, restoring community facilities, planting trees, laying flowerbeds, litter picking and graffiti removal.

Requirements

  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence (automatic only not accepted).
  • Right to work in the UK and the Civil Service.
  • Experience in supervising or leading small teams is desirable.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and a professional working environment.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a criminal record check.
