Case Administrators play a vital support role in probation teams, helping to keep the public safe. They provide administrative support within the Probation Service (PS), ensuring staff and individuals on probation are supported through efficient processes and maintaining administration systems to meet team and divisional objectives.
In line with PS policies, the job holder must demonstrate a commitment to equality and inclusion and understand their relevance to their work.
This role may involve some out-of-hours work and requires adherence to policies regarding the sensitive/confidential nature of the information handled.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up and maintaining accurate records on relevant databases.
- Administering referrals and managing relationships with offender management, victims, and external agencies.
- Preparing and collating case records and management information.
- Managing communications via telephone, email, and paper.
- Providing reception and telephone enquiry services.
- Acting as a point of contact for specialist areas.
- Dealing effectively with individuals, including those in crisis or displaying challenging behaviour.
