The IT Operations Practice sits within the Transformation and Technology directorate and is responsible for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure which underpins and supports the organisation. It consists of a number of specialist technical teams which provide support, monitor and operate technical solutions.
The team is responsible for the configuration, administration and support of the network and network security infrastructure, to ensure continuous service, and to respond to change requests from both within the business and our external partners and customers.
You will provide technical input for projects and larger pieces of work, aiming for greater operating efficiency and development of further cost-effective options, whilst ensuring availability and reliability.
You will take forward technical and service improvement activities providing guidance and leadership to technicians within the team, the wider IT Operations Practice, whilst also working across Transformation and Technology to support and deliver solutions in line with the overall Technology and Business Strategies.

Person specification
You will hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) or have experience in an IT field.
You will have achieved a network focused certification or have equivalent network focussed industry experience, with evidenced skills in:
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP
- Firewall configuration, including policy changes
You will have experience of technical leadership within an IT organisation and experience in the delivery of significant network infrastructure change, from design to delivery. You will visualise and solve complex problems, making decisions based on available information.
You will be an excellent communicator, someone who can build good working relationships across all levels, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
