You will undertake a Digital User Experience (UX) Professional Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.

Upon successful completion of your level 6 apprenticeship, and subject to satisfactory performance and attendance, you will be assessed for a permanent role.

As an Apprentice Digital User Researcher at HM Land Registry, you will be embedded into fast-paced delivery teams - either across several smaller services or dedicated to one larger programme of work. Your research will inform policy, proposition, service, content and interaction design so that digital services work well for users and achieve their policy intent.

You will have regular guidance and support to produce your best work and develop your skills. You will work closely with more experienced User Researchers and will plan, manage and carry out research to inform the design of digital services and help teams get a deeper understanding of the people that use them. You will use a range of user research methods, including usability testing, pop up research, contextual research and interviewing.

You’ll communicate insights from user research in engaging and impactful ways to delivery teams to support positive change and improve digital services. You will also be conducting tasks to support research operations as this function grows within HM Land Registry.

Apprenticeships are funded by the UK Government and there are some rules which we need to consider to establish eligibility for this opportunity. In particular:

  • You will have been a resident in the UK for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship or fit the criteria of eligible residency status in the Apprenticeship Funding Rules.
  • You do not already hold the same or similar qualifications.

Digital user experience (UX) professional (integrated degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

Person specification

To be successful in this apprenticeship, you’ll need to have 5 GCSE’s grade 4 or grade C and above including Maths, English and ICT or a STEM subject or equivalent; and have a minimum of 104 points at A2 (grades BCC) or equivalent, e.g. BTEC DMM.

You will understand the commitment needed to complete an apprenticeship and have a motivation for learning. You will be a self-starter able to develop yourself and keep abreast in an everchanging IT environment. You will be a competent user of computer software packages including knowledge of MS Office and email. Through your ability to think ahead, you will be able to anticipate problems and have excellent problem-solving skills.

You can work as part of a team to achieve a team goal and can organise and prioritise your own work and tasks. You have effective and easy to understand communication skills (written and verbal) in a variety of situations.
