Responsibilities

  • Manage the hardware and software infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and operating systems.
  • Represent your specialism on relevant projects and programmes, providing advice and guidance to ensure services are developed in a supportable design.
  • Plan and manage technical changes related to your IT Operations specialism.
  • Act as a technical role model and leader within the IT Operations Practice and associated areas.
  • Leading and offering guidance to junior members of staff.
  • Monitor and analyse the availability and performance of the IT infrastructure and the delivered IT services.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role you will hold a qualification in Information Technology, or a related area or experience in an IT field.

Qualifications

You will have in depth knowledge and proven experience in at least three of the following:

  • Data Centre Hardware
  • Technical infrastructure installation
  • Infrastructure Cabling and configuration

Technical Skills

  • Holds a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) or experience in an IT field.
  • In depth knowledge, proven expertise and practical experience in at least three of the following: Data Centre Hardware, Technical infrastructure installation, Infrastructure Cabling and configuration, IBM Mainframe Hardware.

Security Check

The post will require a Security Check and will therefore be subject to further background checks, including meeting the UK minimum residency requirement of 5 years.
